| I agree Phil that it drives better in the wet, perhaps we need to fit a sprinkler system.... |

After the 'stair rod' showers over Grantham earlier this afternoon, it has cleared and it is scorching sunshine, texted weather report from Tom at the track has confirmed it-- SCORCHIO!

| Bit wrong, but it was a good night nevertheless, good to see a big turnout and some good racing. |

| It was 'scorchio' when I arrived and for a little while afterwards - overall a good evening when the squally rain shower passed. |

Tuesday 18th August.
Just thought about last evenings racing and club night - despite the fact that there were a a lot of breakdowns, engine stallings etc.,etc., I thought it was a cracking evenings entertainment.
The people tha came down for theirt first look at our club must of noticed the great atmosphere, the banter and the laughs amongst our happy band. THAT's what clubs are all about.
Some of the new boys racing for the first time had the usual breakages, RTR servoes, steering knuckles, screws falling out and tuning issues - everyone went home having had help and assistance and a few spares from the members. I think overall that everyone had an enjoyable time.
There were a couple of parents and sons that turned up for advice - they too seemed happy that they had the offer of assistance whenn they eventually purchase - and were given good , honest advice aboout their potential purchases - sometimes you can do internet searches till the cows come home, seeing what people race and the number thereof is the best indication.
Next week, weather permitting, hould be an interesting night, there might be a few new buggies / truggie that need setting up... |

Cracking nights racing... Nice to see lots and lots of new faces.
Obviously the nights are drawing in fast now, so I was just wondering what everybody's thoughts where on the race format for the last few weeks.
Last night we had upto 10 cars in the heats and I rattled the racing through very quickly to give everybody plenty of track time.
I just what to make sure that everyone is coping ok with the speed the meeting is running at? |

Good to see so many people racing last night and its quite noticable how well the regulars have got to grips with the track. Not sure what was happening with the Buggy engine tuning but most seem conked out at some point!!
It was very noticable how the evenings are drawing in. I guess that in 3 weeks or so there will not be enough daylight to get a proper evenings racing squeezed in. Will the racing switch to a weekend time slot in the near future to keep the race subs rolling into the club coffers and not Laughton Farms? I would imagine that most (not all thinking of Carl ands Jim in particular) find the outdoor tack easier to get to and assume that most prefer the outdoor club track to race on? |

We will be running a winter series which will probably be one Sunday a month, dates to be confirmed. This will be be a full race meeting ie. heats and finals.
In the process of sorting a Tuesday night out as well, update shortly. |

It was a good night, although I spent more time trying to fix my car than running/talking to people. Ah well, fix one problem find another e.t.c. Before you say anything though Phil, the Losi side of things are great, its the driver / picco / spectrum side of things that arent so good at the moment |
