Hey all,

I've seen rumblings about running electric buggies at the club, has their been any thought to allowing SCTs? By that, I mean the Traxxas Slash, Associated SC10 and other similar trucks.

In America, they are HUGELY popular as the classes are really restrictive - they still have to have SCT tyres (bigger sidewall on the outer edge of the wheel - no 1/10th truck tyres), and usually a control motor like 10.5 brushless or 19t brushed (or kit RTR motors, which are lower spec 17t). In general, a bit more power than grip . The scale element of going gradually sideways with the arse hanging out never looks dull.

Slashes are £180 RTR with 12t brushed motor (550 size, so about 17t 540 sized) and ESC, just add batteries. SC10's are £160 for a kit roller, or £220ish for it RTR with brushed motor and ESC.

I'm getting one for West Bridgford's Indoor Winter Series, but would love to take it outdoors before summer.

Heres some pics from a Yorkshire club on oOple:

A modified (shorter) version of the track would be a hoot with these trucks.

I'm sure they'd be a gas, if you can find anyone who wants to race them. I'm sure that I speak for all the members and regulars at A1 Racing, we're more than happy to welcome anyone who wants to race any sort of model car, be it electric, nitro, of any reasonable scale or discipline.

If we can enough numbers of any type of car we'd be able to arrange some track time - just let us know.

I know I keep looking at the one hanging in Access models in Grantham which I believe is a nitro one - trouble is I can't warrant ANOTHER r.c. car!

My SC10 got delivered today :)

Here's how it fell out of the box, I got it cheap off of eBay.

And then I happened to have some Relentless decals handy...

Going to put a 10.5 brushless and LiPo in it.
