Just in case you hadn't guessed already club racing will start on Tuesday 23rd June @ Gonerby Moor.

We will run a minimum of three heats and maybe finals depending on what time we start and how many drivers we have.

Racing should start around 6.30pm. If you are coming from some distance please let somebody know so we can book you in.

hey, someone might remember me hopefully, i came to a few practice nights last year at the gonerby track. My name is AJ, I come from Canwell and have a hong nor, if that helps to jog anyones memory?

I wondered if I could come down to the track sometime and take some pics and video footage of the track and racing for my A-level ICT coursework, i might even blow the cobwebs off my buggy and bring it, but my driving will be very rusty to say the least :(

Another question: will there be any nights at the track for practicing like last years thursday nights? though i cant make thursday nights as i play in a darts league on thursdays.

Tuesday nights are on - definitely, but other nights of the week will have to be arranged. All I can say is keep looking on this forum.

Re: This Tuesday, 23rd - can whoever has what's left of the hi-vis vests please bring them down. Any of you that already have them - you should wear them whilst marshalling - and we WILL need marshalls...they'll undoubtedly be more 'off's' than at Laughton!

Am I sad and alone in looking forward to an evening racing outdoors on the track we laid ?

The culmination of several weeks (if you add all the days together) of blood, sweat and tears (that's rips, as in jeans rather than water from the eyes!) - and finally we get to race!

For the benefit of some of our more loony racers (Stewart with the 'leccy Caster) , we've added some safety netting behind the banked corner so if you clear that you do deserve to ditch your buggy!

See you tomorrow night!

Weather looks reasonable for this evening, might we advise that one brings hat, sunglasses and fluid for personal consumption!!

If you need feeding we have discovered that one of the local pizza houses delivers trackside, there's a chippy in the next village about three miles up the A1, alternatively Burger King across the road if you're feeling flush!

It was nice to be back outside...now all I need to do is work on the reliability of my H7, the jumps, the landings, taking bends without falling over - the hayfever and the low sun in my eyes.

Other than that - bloody marvellous!!!

It was a good test for the track last night after the torrential downpour we had about an hour before, and everything was fine. If we wound the clock back a year, the track would have been unusable. Well done everyone.

Personally, I thought it 'drove' better wet - I was using bowties and the grip was down a little allowing some slide in the corners.

But you're right Tom, last year we would have had to pack up and go home - the car park still needs some work though, bit boggy underfoot on the in-fields and that last bit of track sorting now some of you have sorted out some decent astro.
